What if all the Seditionicans* in our country were suddenly Raptured away…

…by their god, Cthulhu?

• *Seditionicans is a term I use to describe: any Republicans in the U.S. Congress who are against a bi-partisan commission investigating the events leading up to and including January 6, 2021, MAGA Trumpists, QAnon crazies, conspiracy theorists, racists, white nationalists, haters of all kind, hypocrites, anti-abortionists, gun lovers, death penalty proponents, BIG LIE spreaders.

In my opinion, it would be heaven.

In my imagination of life without Seditionicans, we would adjust the meaning of the Declaration of Independence to the 21st century where “all people are created equal” AND LIVE BY IT! This should address all forms of racism, sexism and any other inequalities people currently experience in their daily lives.

We would acknowledge and recognize that “the white man” came by this country mostly through invasion, murder, fraud and theft and pay reparations to the descendants of the indigenous tribes and nations.

We would have affordable healthcare for all, have a “living” minimum wage, fight global warming and be a home to science and scientists from all around the world.

Advertisements for medicines, other than over-the-counter remedies, would not be permitted on television (my pet peeve).

FOX News would be taken off the air due to their promotion of lies and hate speech until they agree to follow an adhere to the standards and rules of serious journalism.

Rupert Murdoch would be “persona non grata” in the USA…if he is not Raptured with the rest of the Seditionicans.

Dark money would be outlawed in politics.

We would fix our infrastructure, explore new forms of clean energy and (my own wish) build a high speed rail system to serve our nation as well as light rail systems in cities and commuter rail system across regions.

We would have gun laws that are sensible and keep guns and ammunition out of the hands of people who do not need them or should not have them. Hunting can be done with bows or by trapping animals.

If the hunter lobby complains then perhaps we can invent a hunting rifle that can only hold one bullet at a time. A hunter with a valid license can purchase 12 bullets per year at a cost of $50.00/bullet.

Any individual who decides to hang on to an existing hand-gun, semi-automatic rifle or other firearm they may own would have to pay $100.00/bullet for replacement bullets.

You may have guessed, in my opinion, there is no reason for any private person to own a handgun or other firearm, not even for personal protection, that is why we have a police force.

Women’s reproductive rights would be in their own hands. If a woman became pregnant it would be her choice as to what she would want to do in that situation, going forward.

Sexual orientation and gender identity would be everyone’s own business and would not be discriminated against.

The separation of church and state would be strictly kept. You can worship whatever you want but it has no place in government, state supported programs or institutions.

Our country would be open to “the poor, the tired and huddled masses,” people trying to escape hunger, violence and any other form of strife.

That is my list in a nutshell, touching on things that would make life better in my opinion, on first thought.

I am sure every person has their own view of what life in our wonderful country could be like. The trick is to combine all of these views into a system that works for ALL OF US, which I think is what living in a Democracy means.

To all of the radical, racist, white supremacist, MAGA Trumpist, QAnon crazy, conspiracy theorist haters who believe in the BIG LIE of a stolen election and who do not accept Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as our legitimate President and Vice President, I only have this to say…
