Well Joe, here is a news flash for you, our government has been broken for years and is in a total shambles, as can be witnessed by the outrageous lies, denials and hypocrisy coming from what used to be the Republican party and is now a group of mostly bat-shit, crazy haters who apparently support the seditious insurrection of January 6, 2021. It is now the Sedition party.
If Republicans in the Senate are not going to support establishing a bi-partisan commission, styled after the 9/11 commission, in order to investigate the events of January 6, 2021, the attack on our nation’s capitol by MAGA insurrectionists at the behest of Donald Trump, you must know that the system is seriously broken.
By your refusal to stand with the Democrats, you become a tool of that group, clear and simple. We need to break the Filibuster so that Democrats and Joe Biden can get important work done and important laws passed, with or without the cooperation of the Republicans.
What I wish for is that you (and Kyrsten Sinema) will finally realize what many ordinary people have already noticed a long time ago, you can not reason or make deals with the Republican party because it does not exist in the way that you may remember it.
The Republican party has been hollowed out and taken over by seditious insurrectionists and Trump MAGA supporters who do not have one iota of love for this country. It is run by hypocrites who will say one thing, then turn around and do the opposite, claiming that the rules do not apply to them. They simply deny saying what everyone clearly heard them say, or they deny that something happened, when everyone saw it clearly happen. They do not care that proof of their lies and hypocrisy is on video tape and can be called up on the internet at any time. Bold faced lying, cheating and hypocrisy are their tools.
At this time, any sane Republican who is realizing that their party is nothing but an empty shell, that it has become the Titanic of political parties, should consider switching parties and join the Democrats in order to help fix the problems that are plaguing our country. We certainly have plenty of them. From a crumbling infrastructure to a lack of affordable child care, lack of affordable health care, systemic racism, gun violence and lack of gun control, etc…
The Republicans are not willing to address any of these problems and they never will because they do not care about our country, they simply care about being IN POWER.
Republicans are about having control. They want to control women’s bodies by banning abortions, they want to control minorities by making voting more difficult, they want to control people’s gender choices by passing restrictive bathroom and sport participation laws. Republicans are against gun control in a country where gun violence has been running rampant. They are anti-science during a global pandemic. The list could go on and on, so let’s just say that they are simply anti-everything that could mean a progressive, positive change for our society.
