While other news outlets were reporting on the imminent public hearing by the January 6 commission, Fox was featuring a story about Nancy Pelosi failing to give the Supreme Court Justices more special protection.
The threat alert for the Justices has been increased since the leak of the brief about the Court possibly repealing Roe v Wade later this month. One person was arrested just this week outside of Justice Kavanaugh’s house. He was armed and apparently intended to do harm to the Justice.
My take on this is that it is good that the person was prevented from doing harm to a Supreme Court Justice, no matter how vile that Justice may be.
It shows that the extra security is already working, so why look for additional ways of keeping the Justices safe?
Most of us have to go through our daily lives without any special protection at all from gun violence. It is not like members of the Party Of Death, formerly known as the Republican Party, or even the Supreme Court Justices, are making our lives safer by putting restrictions on gun ownership and tightening up gun laws, when given the chance.
I think that it may actually be a good thing that the Supreme Court Justices have to fear for their lives, and even have close calls like Justice Kavanaugh had. Perhaps this will make them think about the Second Amendment and whether it is really necessary for Americans to have such easy access to guns, and especially to high caliber assault rifles.
Perhaps it will give them just a hint of a taste of the kind of fear that the kids at the Elementary school in Uvalde experienced, or the people at the grocery store in Buffalo, or the…
Fox “News” is totally ignoring the proceedings by the January 6 commission tonight, which is dealing with an event that could be described as a kick in the crotch of our Democracy.
As a reminder, Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, in order to prevent the transfer of power from Trump to Joe Biden, the duly elected president, by a margin of about 7 million votes.
However, the plot possibly goes much deeper and broader than that. It appears that there were large amounts of organization that went not only into the insurrection, but also into trying to find other ways to steal the election from Joe Biden.
Much of that is going to come to light tonight, and on five more days this month.
