…don’t vote for Republicans in the next elections!
Republicans are gearing up to hijack the next elections. Not only are they making it harder for people in many of our fifty states to cast their vote, they are also trying to install people in key positions in many states, that can influence an election by refusing to certify it, for example, if the election did not go in their favor.
This is a scary prospect for freedom and democracy in the USA but also for freedom and democracy ON OUR PLANET! There are already many countries where free and fair elections are not the standard, China, Russia, Belarus, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to name a few.
Will the USA join their ranks because a few old white racist men do not want to give up power and are pandering to other white supremacist types who clearly wish for a system of white rule with a classification of citizens into first, second, third class and so forth? Of course, in this system, white males are first class, white women second class and all others are below that.
This is a sickening thought but unfortunately it is not an impossible scenario. With many Republican cowards denying that the insurrection on January 6 happened and Senate Republicans refusing to help establish a bipartisan commission to investigate the events of- and leading up to the January 6 insurrection, they are hoping to rewrite history. Their aim is to whitewash Trump and to avoid taking responsibility for their own actions that contributed to leading up to the vile event on January 6, 2021.
The only hope we have, to save our Democracy as we know it, is to not allow any Republicans running for re-election to remain in power and not to elevate new Republicans to public office.
Currently the Republican party does not stand for any of the morals or values that it has stood for in the past. Thanks to Donald Trump and his four years of disrespectful, brain-dead boorishness, this new Republican party stands for ego maniacs, chaos, lies, conspiracy theories, white supremacy, rule of the gun, racism, xenophobia, corruption, hypocrisy and science denying craziness.
Until these Republicans, many of whom are currently in the U.S. Congress, are soundly rejected and defeated at the polls and have been shown that decent members of society do not subscribe to their cowardly, warped values and sick views of the world, we are in danger of descending into fascism.
We must prevent this from happening by putting up good candidates for the party of the Democrats, in local, state and national elections, who stand for views and values that reflect and benefit all citizens, even the ones that are currently supporting- and are hoping to elect- the fascists.
We must show them that there is a better way and that America is a country that is vibrant and strong BECAUSE we are made up of many different people, with many different backgrounds, from many different nations, with many talents and strengths. We are, after all, a nation of immigrants.
