McConnell has no leg to stand on to make any historical comparisons!
First, that withdrawal in 1975 never happened, as a matter of fact, the USA was never involved in any conflict in south-east Asia, according to the new American History that Republicans want to see taught in our schools!
Second, “in February 2020, the Trump administration signed an agreement with the Taliban that called for all American forces to leave Afghanistan by May 1, 2021.” So this process got started under your “America First,” “MAGA” President.
Third, McConnell has been standing by while a Republican president has embarrassed our country over the course of four years, a President who has been more corrupt than any other public official in our history, a President who has politicized the wearing of face masks during a pandemic and who has done nothing to protect the people of the United States from the Covid-19 virus by decisive leadership. Instead, he has constantly worked at splitting our country, calling on governors to “open up” their states even though they were being ravaged by the virus. He suggested that there were good people on both sides during a clash between White Supremacist, Nazis, Racists and counterprotesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, after one counterprotester had been killed. Trump also weaponized the Justice Department for his own purpose, has been twice impeached and has been shown to be involved in an attempt to overthrow the legally elected government of the USA in 2021. Richard Nixon was a choir boy in comparison to Trump and the damage he has caused. Never mind his gutting of the Republican Party or the uncountable number of lies he has told in his four years in office, culminating in his BIG LIE of a stolen election and voter fraud. AT THE VERY LEAST, WHERE WAS THE FUCKING COMPARISON TO “TRICKY DICK,” RICHARD NIXON?
