Freedom Now!
This morning I heard a story on NPR about freedom. It was not, as you may think, a report on Ukraine.
This story was about COVID-19 restrictions being loosened or done away with altogether, in France. A young person who was being interviewed stated that at least people were getting their freedom back because they no longer had to wear masks.
“Funny, that is how I feel about wearing clothing on the lower half of my body, but I am not complaining about it!” #noclothesdownlow

I have to say, I am quite tired of the whiners and complainers who feel their rights and freedoms infringed upon because they have to wear a face mask. They don’t care that they may infect other people with the stuff they exhale, they just want to be unencumbered and “free.”
Those people do not just live in France, we have them right here in the USA, in large numbers. Having been brainwashed by Trump, his political cronies, and Fox “News” “personalities,” they steadfastly cry about their freedoms being taken from them through face masks, immunizations or any other measure put in place to protect the public health.
Trump and Co. made the wearing of a face mask a political statement rather than a public health one, right from the beginning of the pandemic, probably resulting in thousands of infections and deaths, that could have been prevented.
Well, the disease is still out there and personally, I am wearing a double mask at work and play.
I feel that I can lower the risk of endangering those who are around me because I care for their health. After all, they are my colleagues, friends, or clients.
At play, I am taking the attitude that I am engaging in “High Altitude Training” by wearing my mask. It makes breathing a little more difficult, although I have heard that the amount of oxygen that comes through, even when wearing a double mask, is still near 100%.
The general idea is that if I can perform at a high level with a mask, I have even more stamina when I perform with the mask off.
A few years ago, this type of training was popular although, the benefits were questionable since the types of gasses needed for “High Altitude Training” can only be found at high altitude.
Anyway, I will keep wearing my mask for now because it can’t hurt!
