Finally, Black History Month is almost over!

…any many old white people, racists, fascists, white supremacists, most Republicans, and let’s be honest, all Fox “News” watchers, are breathing a sigh of relief.

Since we celebrate Black History Month during the shortest month of the year, they won’t have to be exposed to any more Black History for the next 338 days.

Many of the people mentioned earlier would like to do away with Black History Month altogether. They ask stupid questions like, “why don’t we have a White History Month?” “It only seems fair.” IDIOTS!

They are the same people who have signs in their yards or stickers on their cars proclaiming: “White Lives Matter,” “All Lives Matter,” “Blue Lives Matter.” They are either totally ignoring or totally missing the point of the “Black Lives Matter” movement.

Many of this “vocal minority” go to school board meetings to DEMAND that teachers do not educate their students about Black history events, including slavery, which may make white kids feel bad and definitely makes those adults squeamish.

Forty-seven bills have been introduced in 23 States to limit the teaching of racial history.

I am thinking that if teaching Black History is going to be prohibited, teachers should come at the subject from a different angle and teach White History. Surely, white people could not object to that too because after all, it is THEIR history that is being taught. What could be wrong about that?

The units and individual lessons should include but not be limited to themes like: “A look at the impact of white people on native peoples in the Americas, India, Australia, and Africa.” This could be paired with teaching about “A look at Christianity, and it’s impact on native people.” Further themes could be: “Gaining Wealth, Power, and Influence through slavery in North America.” “Colonies, Subjugation, Slavery and the white man.” “Women, keeping them barefoot and pregnant” should also not be missing from the agenda. Here, as part two, we could also teach a unit called “Pro Life, a modern look at controlling women’s bodies.”

I should say that these ideas for teaching “White History” are just the tip of the iceberg when we look at the impact of “White Man’s History” on his environment. We can have a tight focus and only look locally, or we can expand our focus and look regionally and even globally. We can go back to ancient history or look at recent or even current events.

From early conquests by warlords, to the inquisition, to the colonization of many lands, to slavery, even to the Holocaust, white men have mostly been the driving force behind these events and the atrocities that are associated with them. Their victims were often the weak but mostly “others,” as in other color, other race, other religion, other sex.

The sad truth is that White History is replete with suppression, killing, subjugation, control and slavery, with the ultimate goal to gain or hold on to power and wealth.

If you are offended by Black History Month, get squeamish when the conversation turns to slavery and oppression, feel guilty when talk turns to how the white man treated the Native Americans. Get over yourself! It is part of the history of our country.

If you can not accept these facts then you should face the fact that you can probably be classified as a white supremacist racist, with fascist ideals, who likely registers as and supports Republicans.

I would bet that you voted for Trump, believe in the Big Lie of a stolen election, and think that the insurrection on January 6, 2021, was legitimate political discourse. You are living on a steady diet of Fox “News,” and you are wrapped up into one big ball of intolerance and hate.

Sorry to have to tell you, you are in the minority! Black History Month is here to stay because in a way, BLACK HISTORY IS YOUR HISTORY TOO, just from a different angle!
